As a Cybersecurity Analyst, you will work alongside our team, NGTOC, and DOI security experts to ensure that government security standards are met and that the IT systems powering The National Map remain protected. You will be the go-to problem solver for hardening systems, tracking vulnerabilities, verifying STIG compliance, analyzing logs, and responding swiftly to potential threats.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience finding and fixing security vulnerabilities
  • Skilled in reviewing and verifying patches to ensure systems stay up-to-date and protected
  • Familiarity with DoD STIGs for securing government computers and servers
  • Ability to review system and application logs to spot suspicious activity
  • Knowledge of compliance rules to meet federal security standards
  • Understanding of risk management to prevent problems before they happen
  • Experience responding to and investigating security incidents to minimize damage
  • Solid ability to collaborate with distributed teams and engaging system owners, engineers, and federal stakeholders to communicate risks, recommend effective solutions, and drive security improvements
Desired:
  • Industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, Security+, CEH, etc.) to demonstrate proven expertise in protecting and securing systems in high-stakes environments
