The Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA) is enhancing its enterprise geospatial infrastructure to support intelligence operations across highly secure military and Intelligence Community networks. As mission demands grow, the need for reliable, secure, and high-performing geospatial systems continues to expand.
We are seeking a GIS Geodatabase Engineer to serve as a senior technical expert responsible for designing, securing, and optimizing ESRI enterprise geodatabases within classified environments. In this role, you will support the modernization and performance of mission-critical geospatial systems that enable analysts and decision-makers across global operations.
This position focuses on the development and sustainment of ArcGIS Enterprise environments, with an emphasis on database performance, system reliability, and security compliance. You will play a key role in ensuring geospatial data systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with national defense mission requirements.
Salary Range: $125,000 - $145,000
Requirements:
Active TS/SCI clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or related field
12+ years of professional experience working with GIS applications, including at least 6 years of hands-on experience with ESRI software
Required Certifications: DCWF qualification; ArcGIS Enterprise Geodata Management Professional; and a relevant Database Administrator (DBA) certification (e.g., MSSQL, PostgreSQL)
ESRI Enterprise Geodatabase subject matter expertise, including design, implementation, and management of enterprise-scale geodatabases
Demonstrated experience in spatial data modeling, database performance optimization, and implementing backup and recovery procedures
Experience automating database processes using Python and SQL
Proven experience with security hardening, vulnerability assessments, and remediation to protect enterprise data environments
